1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using the Vicinia mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree, please do not use the mobile application.

2. App Purpose

Vicinia is a community safety tool designed to send alerts to nearby users and selected contacts.

Important: It does not replace emergency services (call 000 in the event of an emergency). It also does not support taking matters into your own hands, please let law enforcement know and let them handle the situation.

3. User Responsibilities

• • Use the app lawfully and respectfully.

• • Only send alerts when you genuinely require assistance. Misuse of the application will lead to suspension or termination of the user account from Vicinia.

• • Do not misuse the app for false alarms or harassment. Misuse of the app will lead to your account suspension or termination from the platform permanently.

• • User must not take the law into their own hands. This app is only to gather support, record evidence, and create a sense of neighborly lookout within the community, much like the alarms installed outside houses.

4. Accounts and Security

• • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account.

• • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.

5. Limitations of Liability

• • We are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from app usage.

• • No guarantees are made regarding response times or user availability.

6. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the app or violate these Terms.

7. Updates & Modifications

We may update these Terms and the app features. Continued use means you accept the updates.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Melbourne, Australia.
